Children from each school are chosen to be on the Kid Council. The goals and objectives of the Kid Council are to literally give a voice to the students regarding their camps of interest.
Mrs. Connie has been busy meeting with representatives from each school. Everyone is excited about the new ideas coming. They will also be helping with the Family Night on March 8. Stay tuned!
May 4 was a lot of fun at SACC…
Lisa Spencer from channel 4 WSMV came to visit!
Our 3rd – 6th graders had a great time learning how the weather is predicted and reported from Lisa Spencer, meteorologist from channel 4 WSMV. She even did a few experiments with the students.
She also showed a video of “behind the scenes” at the studio and another video showing how lightening forms.

Rachel’s Challenge…
Our Middle School students made Public Service Announcements and created art backdrops for Rachel’s Challenge. For further information, please click on the “Rachel’s Challenge” page on the lssd.org.
Rachel was the first student killed in the Columbine School shootings several years ago in Colorado. After her death, her family found several things she had written about kindness. She was hoping to target specific acts of kindness, this could start a chain reaction. We are striving to continue her legacy by creating a paper chain at all our sites made out of “loops” with acts of kindness written on them.
