Hello,
My name is Connie Gray. I currently hold the position of School Age Child Care Program Director. I have been employed by the Lebanon Special School District for eighteen years and have held my current position for ten years. Here is a little information about my family. I have been married to my true love and we celebrated our twenty sixth anniversary in April. We have one son, his name is Nolan and all the children in the program love for me to tell stories about the numerous adventures he always plays a part in. He is to me, as yours are to you, the light of my life.
Nolan attends Cumberland University and went from wanting to be an attorney, to seeking a degree in Criminal Justice, Policeman/FBI/Fireman these are his choices now. I often ponder the question, do parents every get to stop worrying about their children, probably not.
Nolan also plays baseball for the famous “Mr. Woody Hunt” who has led his team to two national world series championships. So parents mark the calendars now, if home game, I will be there.
Well enough about my family, let me explain my goals for your family in the after school program. Our “Mission Statement” clearly expresses that I firmly believe that the safety of all children enrolled should be our number one priority.
I also believe that when a child feels loved and respected the quality of life is simply better. Methods of Praise, Pause & Pit will allow parents to see that SACC truly believes we should do everything to promote positive behavior, teach life skills that allow for better decisions.
I do believe in having an open door policy for parents to call and communicate questions or concerns. Lines of communication are always available for all parties involved through “Conference of Concerns” by working together it allows us all to grow as a team.
While every effort is made to praise (reward notices of great choices) or pause (think it over, how can I make a better choices) unfortunately, sometimes we have to pit behavior (ownership for actions that infringes upon the safety and well being of others in our care). Please note that situations of safety SACC takes very seriously and appreciates the continued support of parents who understand (Code of Conduct) and our need to as well.
I am very proud of all the 45 staff members who are employed by the SACC/Wee Care programs and can say that we work as a team daily. We all share a common goal, which is the safety and well being of your children in our care. I look forward to serving each child and parent in our program and thank you for entrusting them into our care.
Sincerely,
Connie Gray
